Got a kid headed to college? This fall I will have 3 kids at 3 different colleges!! Here is a list I put together for some basic college dorm room necessities. *some links are affiliate links
big bags for move in day - we have used these for multiple move ins
mattress topper - be sure to check the bed size for dorm room
mattress cover - check dorm mattress size
space saving hangers -these are the best for a small dorm closet
storage cart or this one
step stool - folds for easy storage
towels - I suggest 3-4 towels/wash cloths
shower caddy - perfect to keep the shared bathroom organized
drawer storage - make sure it can fit under the bed
extension cord - check with your college for their policies in the dorms
small safe - just big enough to hold some emergency cash and keep it secure
rechargeable blender - perfect for a drom room
umbrella - walking to class in the rain is no fun
rain coat - it will rain at college!!
