College Dorm Essentials

Got a kid headed to college? This fall I will have 3 kids at 3 different colleges!! Here is a list I put together for some basic college dorm room necessities. *some links are affiliate links

• big bags for move in day - we have used these for multiple move ins

• mattress topper - be sure to check the bed size for dorm room

• mattress cover - check dorm mattress size

• fan

• air purifier

• space saving hangers -these are the best for a small dorm closet

• storage cart or this one

• step stool - folds for easy storage

• tool kit

• office supplies

• hamper or this one

• mesh laundry bag

• towels - I suggest 3-4 towels/wash cloths

• shower caddy - perfect to keep the shared bathroom organized

• shower shoes

• drawer storage - make sure it can fit under the bed

• paper towels

• extension cord - check with your college for their policies in the dorms

• small safe - just big enough to hold some emergency cash and keep it secure

• rechargeable blender - perfect for a drom room

• umbrella - walking to class in the rain is no fun

• rain coat - it will rain at college!!
