Alaska Cruise - Part 1

I was fortunate enough to travel to Alaska on a Royal Caribbean's Brilliance of the Seas cruise in June 2024. Follow along on our adventure. *some links may be affiliate links*

GETTING THERE - We flew from Nashville to Bellingham on Southwest Airlines. Once in Bellingham, we took the Amtrack train to Vancouver. In Vancouver, we stayed in a apartment rented through VRBO. This was our best option because we wanted to be in Vancouver the night before our cruise departure. ***Always arrive at your port city, the day before your cruise departs.***

BEFORE EMBARKATION - Our time for check in for the cruise was 1:30pm, so we had some time to walk around Vancouver. We found a great breakfast/brunch spot - The Twisted Fork

As you can see the food looks delicious - and it tasted even better! Since it was pouring rain, we didn't explore the city too much. We headed back to our apartment and grabbed an Uber to take us to Canada Place Cruise Port.

The check in process was pretty easy. Our information was all in our Royal Caribbean app. You will need to decide if you are going to check your luggage or carry it all with you. I recommend having a back pack with some basics and then checking the rest of your luggage. Make sure your passport is with you and not in your checked bag!! The cruise staff will deliver your luggage to your cabin, usually before dinner time. Once inside the port area, there were plenty of people directing you as to where to go. This port was different than others I have been to - it's all cruise lines in one building. So be sure you pay attention and don't get in the wrong line!

Once onboard, make sure you do your muster drill (our instructions were on our app). Then go explore the ship!!!!!!!

These luggage tags are nice to have.

Fun day of exploring the ship, playing trivia, and of course finding the signs in the elevator.

We completed our day with a fabulous dinner and a show.
